havanai 0 Posted April 4, 2005 The most important suggestion is to be more aware of your backgrounds. That little gray opening in the building at the top of her head is just as important a part of this picture as are her eyes, nose, lips, blouse, etc. When a person looks at this picture the first thing one sees is that little gray rectangle that looks like it is something sitting on top of your subject's head. To take successful portraits (or other kinds of photographs) you have to look at the background and position yourself and your subject so that background doesn't intrude into the picture, as it has in this case.
