sammm 0 Posted April 4, 2005 This was shot through a window on the side of the main entry door, and the children are on a bench in the entryway. I'm particularly interested in thoughts on exposure, given the difficulty here of getting enough exposure in the shadows without getting too much in the light. Is there something I could have done better? Thanks. Link to comment
sallycd 0 Posted April 6, 2005 This is surreal photo. I like the facial expressions of their faces. Thanks for sharing. Link to comment
sammm 0 Posted April 8, 2005 Don, Nice crop; I might go a bit more to the left to avoid cutting off the scroll of wood on the seat, but I like your version. I'd been keeping the "peeking through the window" feeling on the edge, but looking at yours I think it is better. Looks like you increased contrast on saturation on the front two children but made minimal adjustments to the back one. I confess, though, I'm still bothered by how dark the far foreground shadows are - and not sure there is anything I could have done about it while shooting. Sam Link to comment
db1664878771 0 Posted April 8, 2005 All in all, this was a pretty good exposure considering the vast difference between lighting levels from fore to back grounds. Most of the time I just rely on Photoshop to bail me out of tough spots like this one! :) I think you're right about the crop ... a little to the left would have been better. In any case, kudos to you, very well done! Great candid shot ... good expressions and superbly exposed considering the conditions. db ~ Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted April 10, 2005 I think a crop would substantially improve this one, but definitely keep the scrolled chair edge. I think you did pretty good with exposure, considering the wide variance here between light and dark. Link to comment
