Antique Crystal

This is my first posting for a still life photograph. If you give me

a low rating at least have the decency to explain so I can improve.

David, this is a nice attemp, there are many positive points and some defects. I like the perspective, the use of dof to help perspective, the tones. The light however is a bit confusing, there is a nice backlight that gives hotspots, but the foreground glass could be rendered better. Also the foreground glass is tilted on the right (and the second glass too)... Technically it is a good picture, probably next time you should focus to give a message, better if it is very original, becouse you have already a good techinique. regards. g.

David, this is pretty good. I like the way you have presented the glasses, but it's a little uneven. The dark background is good but the lighting of the glasses themselves also seems a little uneven. I found it pretty difficult to photograph crystal myself.

Thank you for your comment. The crystal was shot outside on an old cedar split rail fence with available light, no fill flash, maybe next time I will try the 580ex for fill or maybe even a relector. I like your crystal shots.
