watermark_of_merni 14 Posted April 4, 2005 7/7- Beautiful composition and photograph. I love the colors and clarity. This does resemble a painting. Very dramatic capture and well done. Link to comment

wilsontsoi 0 Posted April 5, 2005 Very nice job regardless of equipment used, but you have to admit there is a special, sweet satisfaction when a wonderful result is extracted from a humble point & shoot. ^_^ Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted April 5, 2005 Marc, Adolfo, Rafik, Els, Watermark, Allon and Jayme. So nice of you all to comment on my effort, thanks a million. Wilson, your right about using simple equipment and making it with the big boys to the top pages. There's a satisfaction and even more so as the Pelican was NOT SHOT IN A ZOO, but in an open bird sanctuary. Link to comment
rkynast 1 Posted April 5, 2005 Beautiful shot, Alec. As I tell friends, it is not the camera, it is the photographer; this photo proves it. Thanks for posting. Link to comment

team_papua 0 Posted April 7, 2005 Mate, this is an incredible picture - I don't even want to ask how the hell you did it!!! Hey Alec - you took this with your old Sony? May I ask why you chose this over the D70 (or is this an older picture of yours) - Patrick Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted April 7, 2005 Richard, Janik, Howard, Francesco, you're all too kind. Thanks. Bilal, you should sell yours to Sony too. Your F828 shot of the tiger jumping is awesome. Patrick, I only had the Sony F505V with me at that time. (I gave it to my daughter and she was travelling with me in the car) So, instead of wasting the opportunity I took the shot. Sure glad I did! Jack McRitchie 150 Posted January 9, 2006 Not just a great looking pelican. The King of Pelicans, the Emperor, the Godfather of the Clan. To say this is an exceptional portrait doesn't give it justice; it is a masterpiece of avian photography. Every element is perfect. Superb. Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted January 19, 2006 Thanks Jack, with a 3.3 megapixel camera one can work wonders too when the light is right. ^_^ Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted January 19, 2006 I believe you could produce treasures with a Kodak Brownie or a pin-hole camera for that matter. Maybe the lens that really matters is the lens of the photographers eye. Regards, Jack Link to comment
