Ship Canal Bridge Pano, Seattle

brianchapman

This is a 3x6 pano, equirectangular format...I have another in a different format that provides quite a different perspective, but it could be days before I get to that one - this takes a while! Anyway, any comments are appreciated as usual...Thanks.Brian

Great use of software to achieve extended FOV. I have used similar techniques myself, so I know how time consuming it is to arrive at the final image.

One small niggle. There seems to be a blurred bit of junk on the right hand side of the frame about a third of the way up.

Ah, yes, that blurred junk on the right side would be some trees that were blowing in the wind during the exposure! I've removed them in another version...Thanks for the comments!

Terrific capture and great use of pano stitching, Brian. Makes us all feel like we're there standing with you. While we're at it, can you just run down to Ivar's and get me an order of fish & chips? ^_^

Hi, Brian!

I found out about this photo in the TIA Daily newsletter under the department heading "Things of Beauty". And it certainly *is*!

You shot this at the perfect time of the evening - the color of the sky is exquisite! The golden-orange glow of the bridge's outline is luscious against that periwinkle hue.

And what a soaring tribute you have paid to the beauty and strength of the great supportive underbelly of bridges, and the genius of engineering that goes into that support!

Plus, this perspective emphasizes to me, even more than a conventional perspective, the connective purpose, the essence, of a bridge.

And is that the Seattle Space Needle in the distance, in the lower right corner? Looks like it. A terrific bonus detail! :)

Thanks for sharing this photo. I love it!
