I just wanted to say thanks and that I am glad you liked the picture, thanks for letting me know! :o) Oh and Christopher you asked how do I get them to relax near me? Vodka it does wonders! ;o) ;o) LOL. DK. Link to comment
cappoldt 0 Posted April 1, 2005 I'll remember that! Your sharpening/post-processing looks really good, by the way - this lens, too, makes for great contrast. Link to comment

jlt 0 Posted April 2, 2005 Super shot. I like it because it isn't the usual shot of a bird sitting on a twig. Great detail. Link to comment

adolfo 0 Posted April 20, 2005 David, great capture in al senses... just one question: how did you get do close to the bird!!?? I can see you used a 100mm macro lens... did you use a remote control on a feeder? Link to comment
dk. 0 Posted April 20, 2005 Adolfo the picture has been cropped a bit But I was very, very close. No remote just handheld as all my pictures are at least so far. It always helps to have food. ;o) I will tell you a small story about how close I was to a Nuthatch just like this one may have been this one I don't know. Anyway take a look at my picture called "Duck in the Rain! (I don't know what Kind?)" But found out later what it was "Hooded Merganser" Anyway when I took those pictures I was kind of trying to hide from them because they don't like people and take off as soon as they see people (I have not seen them ever since, and don't aspect to see them again for many years unless I am lucky) So I was hiding and the bird food that the Nuthatch's eat was right beside my head about 4 inches away, and so I am as still as can be trying to get pictures of the Hooded Mergansers and next thing I know is that there is a Nuthatch 4 inches away from my head eating and looking at me at the same time. If it had bad breath I would have been able to smell it. ;o) LOL (Good thing they don't) To bad I had my Big lens on because if I had the macro like this picture you would have seen a great Eye shot! :o) You take care. If you like my pictures feel free to comment and rate them. I always try to write back, Thats the least I can do for those that take the time to write. :o) DK. Link to comment
adolfo 0 Posted April 20, 2005 Thanks for the explanation. It is just amazing how confident can be some animals in the "new world"... makes me feel so envious... I wouldn't be able to get less than 3m closer to their spanish cousins here!!Great job, i really like your birds folder.Adolfo Link to comment
