navarra 0 Posted April 3, 2005 I don't really think this is such a good photo. The contrast and exposure make it look more like a painting (wich might be good for someone) but the position is ankward and I don't really understand what's going on. For once in 1000 bird pictures we get to see the full eagle, so maybe that's what everyone is so excited about? :) Simone Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted April 11, 2005 A brilliant image. I think this image crosses the threshold into fine wildlife art, in that it could almost be mistaken for an acrylic painting in the manner of Carl Brenders or John Seery-Lester. Simone's comments above make no sense as far as a serious photo critique is concerned, and since he admits that he doesn't "understand what's going on," the comments should be simply dismissed as meaningless. I see strength, power, and the natural self-confidence of an animal at the top of the food chain. No awkwardness here that I can see. None at all. Link to comment
martinforget 0 Posted April 30, 2005 is a whise man. Miguel thanks for the details on the "capture" cause it realy is. I would had have an adrenaline rush and brake my camera I think on a photo like that. Did u feed it, I guess its ethic to do so if your far away from civilisation. On my Northern Hawk some photographers were on the sceen giving the rare bird alot to be feed on. Yes it give realy good photos, but when the bird is annonce on the internet and many photographers do that, i think it's a lack of respect for the bird (it may get "humanize" like we say in behavioral terms). Thats why i rarely feed birds, and why I didnt like the photo to much at first i think. But in a context like yours it would had been a mystic experience to secretely feed a bird like that (if you feed it of course you may had establish your hide just in front of a dead animal or something). Oh now, see me go, I'm all excited thats bad some one said... Maybe its because I just saw my first Golden Eagle 2 weeks ago after 5 yers of intensive birding. Almost have to plan a trip to see a bird like that. Again very strong photo. Watch out for national geographic ;) Link to comment
