a. a. 1 Posted April 1, 2005 Placement of the year is good yet a little bit too large. The placement of the name of photographer and its size are chosen nicely however "Vancouver..." is distracting. The original composition is good but now the key chain, "Local Girls..." and cleavage are fighting for the attention which makes the whole image a bit too busy. I don't do digital work and usually don't appreciate it much either however I understand the fact that this is the age of digital photography and many enjoy it. For me the skin seems plastic but for some it resembles of glamour. A personal choice. Nice colors and a good combination of them however again they are too saturated for my taste and yet the image seems very professional for its purpose. Kind regards Misha Link to comment
david bohn 0 Posted April 1, 2005 Thanks for the critique, that was the best critique I have EVER gotten from a PN member. I'm not here for praise I'm here for honest helpful opinions from professionals like yourself. Thanks again. David Bohn Link to comment
billlong 0 Posted May 5, 2005 Initially I thought one could mistake this for being very staged, but it has a very natural feel. And I have seen girls put their keys in their mouths, as they are about to venture outside. I like the edge lighting on the right with the softer edge on the left. I think it creates a nice design element for the central focus. Bill P.S. I love text Link to comment

sampsonphoto 0 Posted May 12, 2005 I think it would be very nice to have the rim of light on both sides of the model. And regarding the clothes, even though calenders don't strive to be 'timeless', I think the selection of clothes definitely tends to date the image. Maybe it doesn't matter, and maybe selecting clothes that are less trendy wouldn't work, but I think it's something to consider. I love the composition, symmetry is not usually a bad thing. Text choices all seem as they should be. Cheers Link to comment
david bohn 0 Posted May 12, 2005 Thanks Chris I totally agree with you except the part about the rim light, I think the (left) text side would be to visually heavey then. The reason for the clothes - we are looking at getting lu lu lemon as a sposer for the calendar so we used some of their clothes. Sucking up for charity is what I call it ;) Thanks Link to comment
