jayme 0 Posted April 13, 2005 Super image. I like the way it is composed, the unbelievealbe eyes and the expression. Nice capture. I love high-key images. Link to comment
toddlaffler 0 Posted April 28, 2005 This is one of my favorite baby shots of yours. As everyone else has already mentioned, the eyes have it. :) I think you nailed the DOF, focus, lighting, timing, and composition on this one. Nice job overall. I was curious as to what lighting you used on this shot? Is it flash bounced into an umbrella of sorts? Also, it looks like you used the channel mixer to convert to B&W and probably usd mostly all of the red channel. I find this usually gives good "baby face" results as it tends to really smooth out the skin. If you wouldn't mind letting me know about your lighting and conversion technique on this one I'd appreciate it. How do you like the 1D Mark II with the 24-70mm Canon lens? I love mine. :) Keep up the good work, take care, Warm Regards, Todd Link to comment
Doug Keller 0 Posted May 12, 2005 The drain makes it. It pulls the image along; makes it flow; gives it more life somehow. Another beauty of a shot. Link to comment
jeremiah_winden 0 Posted May 13, 2005 Thats funny, I actually did use channel mixer with most red. It gives off such a smooth skin tone. I love the canon 24-70mm lens. I shoot wedding part time as an assistant and this is my walk around lens. It is sharp and fast. Also love the MKII. I used a flash on a bracket on camera. It is a quantum T4, and I bounced off the cealing and off to the side. Keep putting up pictures of your clients as I visit your gallery often. Thanks again Todd, Jeremiah Link to comment
Doug Keller 0 Posted May 13, 2005 I googled for "channel mixer" and found a brief tutorial. Here's the link in case others are learning, too. Using PhotoShop's Channel Mixer It's outdated but has a few examples. Link to comment
