gerard 0 Posted March 27, 2005 The image is nicely sharp and I like the kind of fluffy sides (kind of a fur-coat). I'm wondering about the 100f/2.8 USM. To make this headshot, you need at least 4x magnification. Which technique did you use to increase the power of the 100Macro? It's very interesting.-regards, Gerard. Link to comment
jan_jarczyk 0 Posted March 27, 2005 You right that is about 5x magnification - 1:1 100mm macro - 1.6X beacouse of 300d cmos sensor size - about 1.5x cos extencion tube(65mm)- 2x kenko tele converter- and bout 2x becouse that is a crop from image center all together about 5-6xregards Link to comment

gerard 0 Posted April 5, 2005 Jan, Interesting setup combining a TC with extensions. You can actually calculate how much magnification you really achieve by photographing a milimetric ruler and then dividing the sensor size by the mm you see on the image. Do you see much degradation in image quality compared to the nice-n'-sharp 100f/2.8 alone?-regards, Gerard. Link to comment
jan_jarczyk 0 Posted April 8, 2005 with this combination every think looks excellent at f5.6 at f7 details of tiny hair on the face arent visible at f13 details of eyes... full zsize of picture shows that degradation is not very big(camera 300D did more degradation then the TC did ) but i noticed that this lens alon does very well at f12 - with TC and extencions max f5.6 regards Link to comment
