ned1 0 Posted March 23, 2005 No blasphemy intended. I love the lighting of Caravaggio but can't help throwing in a little humor. Link to comment
a. simpson 0 Posted March 23, 2005 I think what makes this great for me is the color, and the subject. He looks like a king, and except for the bath robe and the plate, this would make a great "period" photo. -Allenda Link to comment
nicholasprice 0 Posted March 23, 2005 Ned, this made me laugh out loud! The light is very good here, just like the master. Your's is a great homage, as I know this painting well as it lives near me in The National Gallery, London. You should come over to blighty, as currently the National has an extensive Caravaggio exhibition, which runs until late May! Fond regards, Nick. Link to comment
ned1 0 Posted March 23, 2005 Nick, you know, I've been trying to get the wife to go on a vacation for months, and round-trip fares to London are pretty cheap right now. How's the weather there? (OK, I know asking what the weather in London is like is like asking what the food in London is like, but I'll ask it anyway) Link to comment
nicholasprice 0 Posted March 23, 2005 Ned, Spring has sprung! For once it is not raining! The sun is out, the flowers are in bloom, and the pretty young girls are wearing summer dresses! The ideal time to visit! www.nationalgallery.org.uk/exhibitions/caravaggio/default.htm Link to comment
