Too much post prosessing for me. Clouds are burnt out, dodging and burning effects (for dramatic contrast I suppose) not in accordance with lighting as far as highlight and shadow. Idea and composition are good, just that the technical aspects fall flat. IMHO... Ray

I like the idea and composition A LOT but the 'post process kitch' lessens the beauty a lot too......but that's probably me liking old school photography...

I find this to be photography and art. For the purists is has the horizon at a third and the subject also on the golden mean...it's black and white which so many feel is a true medium ( although I believe that was the first type of processing we did to reality in photo's, even if it was due to lack of technical ability by film manufacturers). Thirdly, it tells a story and/or evokes an emotion. The ocean, the horizon, the sky, a person, the wheelchair, the sand running through the hands, the reflected clouds on water...so much being said. For me, visually, the most powerful element is the dramatized clouds and the 'pushed' contrasts and other PS elements. It shows how you took an incredible array of artistic and photgraphic mediums and adjusted them to create your vision of this wonderful scene...the artists involvement within the medium is a necessary element for true art in my humble opinion. Thank you for this wonderful piece of work.

I'm someone who believes that the image and the emotions, thoughts one has while viewing are what is important....manipulations have been for years and are currently a part of photography used by many to express themselves. That being said,i DO find the oversharpening "halo" along the arm very distracting. It would take quite a bit of time and work, but, i think this photo is worth trying to correct that "flaw".

The "blotchiness" of sky and water are much less bothersome(to me).Again, very emotional and thought provoking shot.....

My father was disabled and my initial thought was... How difficult it must have been to use the wheel chair in the sand, she must have been very determined, and is now likely stuck... A picture / art that brings about so many comments must be pretty good.

The subject matter, of course, is very emotional. I have a daughter in a wheelchair. The sky looks pretty artificial, and there seems to be a lot of additions after capture. I, too, would like to see the original, just for comparison.

Excellent picture, emotional capture and very artistic. A definite "thinker" to make you really think. The crop, black & white and artistic impression all work and are very strong! Perfect 7s! Thank you!
