A robin in the spring garden

Excellent image!

This gray spring day's bird photo seems to get mixed ratings... So,

I'm curious: what's good in it and what's not?

I have never seen a robin that color.

 

Nice shot. I like the little bits of snow on the limbs. As far as I can tell, the bird is sharp (I look at the junction between the eyes, beak).

 

Something bothers me about how you centered it. You do have the bird looking to the left, where you have more open space (which is correct, per the photo books).

 

 

Having done my fair share of bird photography I can appreciate the difficulty in making this shot. How hard it is to get the shot does not automaticaly make it a good shot but you have succeeded in doing so. Nice job.
