Guest Guest Posted March 23, 2005 a rough first impression - ignoring the oof - is that you leave the viewer without a clear target for their eyes. Is it the real person, or the poster? I like the general idea - a poster of the person you're looking at is a neat twist. But in this setting it's slightly distracting. But you've caught a nice gaze, and again the b&w is quite nice. Decent lighting too. Link to comment
sallycd 0 Posted March 24, 2005 Axel, to me. This is have a poster like quality. This can be a "Street" type of photograph too. Was he unware of this photo? Otherwise it would have been good with eye focus. That's why I said can be a "Street" photograph. Thanks for leaving comments to my Sunrises photos. Link to comment
axelg 3 Posted March 24, 2005 Kathy and Sally, thank you for your comments. This was at the national book fair, and this writer was signing his latest book. Needless to say it was crowded, and my first intention was to make pictures, not a nice one... This one turned out quite well, it is a bit blurred since I used no flash. I think he was aware I was taking pictures. Actually 1 month ago I saw him going out of Notre Dame in his "Academie Francaise" suit (a kind of black suit with golden embroideries) and took many pictures of him (there was a TV camera too) and he seemed quite unhappy...
