dominiquedodge 0 Posted March 19, 2005 Simple but elegant. Exposure seems well handled. I like the way the rocks lead the eye up to the horizon/trees. Link to comment
david robinson 0 Posted March 19, 2005 Jeff, these rock nested in these grasses really make this an outstanding image. I'm not sure but maybe a small crop to the right eliminating the upper most part of the tree branches there might help with the composition. Link to comment
jeff.grant 0 Posted March 20, 2005 Thanks for the feedback folks. David, you are probably right but I just can't bring myself to crop the narrow side on the Xpan shots. I have enough trouble with the format as it is. It certainly doesn't come naturally to me. Link to comment
eric_fredine 0 Posted March 20, 2005 I'm enjoying these long, skinny verticals Jeff. This composition feels slightly off balance to me. The foreground lines are weighted to the left, but the trees seem quite symmetrical and centred and the clouds are also weighted to the left. If possible, a placement of the trees more to the right might have addressed this. Link to comment
jeff.grant 0 Posted March 21, 2005 Thanks Eric. This is the last of the Xpan verticals. I think that I had only ever taken one other vertical but this place seemed to be right for it. I see what you mean about balance and it is a good point to remember for next time. Link to comment
pauli.peura 0 Posted March 30, 2005 So beautiful... Just great colors here and very good use of space. Link to comment
greg mccracken 13 Posted April 8, 2005 This vertical pano really appeals to me! Great colours, exposure and sharpness throughout. I really must stitch more panos together. Thanks for sharing. Link to comment
whydangle 0 Posted October 2, 2008 Jeff, I came to this one bouncing off the one that P.N. placed in the daily collection "The Devil Made Me Do It". Well, they are both good, this one is gooder (I have always liked Gooder Cheese). I really like the vertical pano, which leads me to this query; is this a true pano or a tight crop? Either way, it is sublime!! Link to comment
jeff.grant 0 Posted October 2, 2008 Thanks Mark. This was taken with my Xpan. I struggled with the pano format but did manage the odd one that I was happy with. Funnily enough, it was the verticals that I really loved, probably because they are a little different. Here's another that I like: http://photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=4682410 My cheese intake is seriously restricted these days but I liked 'gooder' too. Link to comment
