The picture was taken at the Palermo windsurf world festival, 2001

edition, around 10:30-11:00 am. I focuse on teh boom in front, opened

the shutter, and let the hull slip out focus, unfortunately it was

hard to isolate the boat from the background. I'm mainly interested

in suggestions on how I could of isolated the boat from the

background, whithout focusing on it.

Hi Andrea, the only way without using a larger apperture which would throw the boat out even more would be to move it further away from the background, not sure wether the owner would like that but you could always offer them a print in return.

Failing that you really don't have much option except with photoshop but that can sometimes look to clinical.
