Really nice use of lighting here. the curve of reflected light on the vase carries on the curve of the flower in a natural way (with an almost natural geometric progression). Don't know if that was intentional but it really works.

Very elegant and original. Tension, balance, composition and color.

Did you try to cut a bit of the black on the top to make (panorama 2:4)? Just as an idea.

Wow, Janet. The beautiful simplicity of this composition just blows me away. Lovely form. The lighting on the flower appears to be spot on. However, do feel that the highlight on the vase is a little bright and detracts from the overall image. As the previous comment stated, it might be a good idea to try a greater landscape format to enhance the horizontal flow of the stem etc. The bottom left is a little distracting as well as I can see the folds in the bacdrop sheet. Overall, very well done indeed. M

Now, Janet, hope you don't mind me tweaking your work but I wanted to see what it would be like for your composition to focus on the form without the colours. Personally, I find this lends a different interpretation to the composition - not better or worse, just different. What do you think? M
