l_szl__niesz 0 Posted October 10, 2001 Maybe the subject is a bit too close to the edge of the picture. Link to comment
tal_weiss 0 Posted October 18, 2001 I liked the fence composition, but I not sure the full frame works. What do you think? Link to comment
paulfisher 0 Posted October 18, 2001 I think I would prefer this shot if you eliminated the person (sorry). With greater depth of field the fence, road and field would make a great composition. Link to comment
tal_weiss 0 Posted October 18, 2001 I'm not sure my wife would like being eliminated, but here goes: Link to comment
michael_hobby 0 Posted October 18, 2001 I agree with Paul, the person ditracts from the image. I like the submission with her removed. Link to comment
paulfisher 0 Posted October 18, 2001 Tal, you have some really good photos of your wife, so don't feel too bad about deleting her from this one. I like the second version much better. Link to comment
sandcruiser 0 Posted October 20, 2001 beautiful landscape, not a great portrait... I've gotta agree that the image would be better without a person in it. Link to comment
skip_scott 0 Posted October 20, 2001 Composition is great as an abstract, but has difficulty telling a story because the human figure tends to be elemental and he is on a road but both the road and the figure are subordinate to the fence. The fence is, no doubt, a great element, but I think at this tight cropping you are forcing the viewer to consider it the subject. It is, therefore, very strong and bullying to the eye. That may have been your intention - to create tension. If not, the crop may be too tight and the fence too far left. It crowds out the mirroring but contrasting and contrapuntal element of the road, thus weakening the potential of the composition. Link to comment
mcreider 0 Posted December 8, 2001 Hi Tal! This is a beautiful and correctly done picture, but I somehow feel that you can be more creative, I mean, many persons passing by this place have already made this shot (and many will do in the future). There's nothing wrong about it, and we see your wife, but where are you? Link to comment
