ronnie_wagterveld 0 Posted March 12, 2005 Good photo. The items in front are disturbing in my opinion, a bit more sharpness so one can see what it is would add value to the picture. Or else remove it :-) Link to comment

13thfloorelevators 0 Posted March 12, 2005 thanks 4 your comments. @julius, ronnie: i know that the water-glass in the front of the picture may be disturbing, but thats not that bad for me cause the face is sharp and the rest out of focus (i want to leave the pic unmanipulated, so i will not remove it)... @george: what do u mean with "limitations of the camera"? sorry for my bad english... greets stefan Link to comment
george_crawford 0 Posted March 14, 2005 this camera is limited by its lens. as such the shadows have no detail and the sharpness of the foregraund objects are lost as noted by the others. Probally cannot be helped with the fixed lens of the A5. You have a good eye and in this case the gear has failed you. Keep up the good work Link to comment
i_. 0 Posted March 15, 2005 Yeah! Great one! Don't listen to others :), keep the out-of-focus-clutter, it adds immensly to the picture, creating a stunning contrast to the mask-like face, giving life to it. Great picture, indeed. Link to comment
13thfloorelevators 0 Posted March 15, 2005 @george: that was the mistake :-) i was shooting with an old canon a-1 with an 85/1,8 lens!, no a5, all analog :-) ...and its ok for me to have very little depth of field (otherwise the items in front would disturb me) and it was not really possible to shoot at higher f-stops (had aperture priority at f=2) because there was very (and i mean VERY)low light, pushed the film to about 800 asa, underexposed 1 fstop (to avoid overexposure of the face) and had times of about 1/30-1/60... greetings stefan Link to comment
