Shock and Awe

Good title for this electrifying photograph.

How far away were you from the lighting and were you using a tripod ?

Thanks! Its somewhat difficult to tell how close I were, but; the thunder was almost instant. The sound of the thunder was so loud I could feel the soundwave on my body.. To the bottom left, there's a vague silhouette of Scandinavias tallest building, the Turning Torso. That building is about 5 kilometers away. The lighting strike is considerably closer.. I was using a tripod and a Sigma 15-30 lens @15mm (top of lighting not captured - it was that close), camera set to 30 seconds - put my hand in front of lens immediately after lighting to enhance contrast, so actual exposure is anyones guess.

Great shot. Not many time I have seen such display at dusk.

I was going to say it would look better if we could see the top of the lightning so not to use a telephoto but at 15mm that was close! Great shot! The detail is amazing.
