gt1 0 Posted March 8, 2005 I have to stop at the Roadrunner's Retreat every time I drive old Route 66 through the California Desert. I try to imagine what it was like to travel through here in the cars of the 30s and 40s, how much fun it would be to stop at places like these as a kid, and how much relief the driver would feel with a frosty milkshake when it's 125 degrees out. tom_appel 0 Posted March 8, 2005 I think you did a comendable job nailing all the elements you needed here. The shabby sign, the abandoned restaurant, the weedy soil, and the big sky. The barbed wire is a nice touch. You could have tried to work the pole on the far left out of this shot, but it's not a big distraction. If you like old signs like this, check out my portolio. I have about a dozen of them. Link to comment
danielwoodrum 0 Posted December 4, 2005 i think i like this shot of the sign better than the other. keep the pole, otherwise the barbed wire would be mysteriously floating in mid-air. Link to comment
