dilber 0 Posted March 7, 2005 This photo is great, the high grate makes it really old, the shadow play on the wall is wonderful. b&w good choice. Link to comment
Todd Kowalski 2 Posted March 8, 2005 Excellent shot Nicholas, great perspective and I would agree that the B&W is what really makes this. Perhaps cropping the left side, so that only a triangle of sky above the roof line might make for more "drama", but that is just a little thing. Very nice nevertheless! Regards, Todd Link to comment
cherlyn 1 Posted March 8, 2005 Good angle of the "disappearing" narrowing street. The open window makes me wonder who is living in this NO. 18. B/W gives a sense of historic time. Very nice presentation. Link to comment
nicholasprice 0 Posted March 9, 2005 I would very much value your opinion. The posted version above is the full-frame unmanipulated image, straight out of the camera. I have been thinking about what I see as the "difficult" proportions of this unaltered image. I have thought about a crop, but feel that removing anything from the top, or bottom of the frame will detract from the image, so I have distorted the image (quite a lot) to produce a square format. I would be very interrested to hear your opinions as to this "new" image, compared to the original. I think that I still prefer the original, but I am not sure? Regards, Nick. Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted March 9, 2005 Nicholas, here is my attempt at altering the proportions of the shot. To me there is maybe too much dark return wall on the right in the original so I have tried to keep the original nice format (suits the vertical feel of mediaeval cities) but reduce the right hand wall.
