mathias 0 Posted March 7, 2005 I reworked this photograph completely from my first posting. Your comments and suggestion are welcome. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted March 7, 2005 This is a nice composition and I like the curious expression of your model. However, I think this has been over sharpened. There's a halo around the goose, especially noticable around the head. I think this is worth reworking with perhaps just some selective sharpening to prevent the halo or artifacts. Link to comment
mathias 0 Posted March 7, 2005 Hi Laurie, The white halo around the head and neck, if thats what you are referring to, is not from oversharpening, but is backlight from the suns reflection in the back. This 'natural halo' is visible on the unsharpened photograph. But I do appreciate your comment that you think it is oversharpened. I did give it a lot, but were careful not to produce halos. Guest Guest Posted March 7, 2005 Sorry Mathias. That bright back lighting fooled my eye. I guess I see so many over shapended photos on PN I jumped to conclusions without looking closely. Link to comment
mathias 0 Posted March 7, 2005 It's difficult to see at this size, granted. I think it is a subject best suited for larger size, that is probably why I applied more than usual sharpening to squeeze the detail out. I also noticed this halo at this size looked like oversharpening, but decided to leave it as it were. Link to comment
martinforget 0 Posted March 7, 2005 Its rare that i say that but i find the main subject a little to much sharpen. A very nice and original composition. Nice choice for B and W. Link to comment
