This would have been better if a "rear synch" flash was used. Now it looks like the hammer is being pulled away (as was commented before.) Cheers for the simple idea though.

The reverse blur is perfect "No eggs where destroyed in the creation of this image!"

Great fun! I see you've gotten a suggestion about rear-synch, although actually to me the hammer blur looks fine. Another thought for the future for portraying this kind of movement -- the Canon 540 EZ and 580EZ (and probably Nikon Speedlights as well) have closeup multistrobe cabability which would be perfect fro capturing the swinging arc of the hammer as a series in a single frame. --jim
