Island in the sky
A triangle of tiny spruce trees growing on the barren expanse of Dava moor. The sun had set half an hour earlier and I had noticed a lenticular shaped cloud hovering like a space ship over the Dava moor, Moray, Scotland. I suspected that the setting sun would strike the underside of the cloud and drove along the road to allign the hovering cloud above the spruce trees and waited until optimum colour had saturated the sky and clouds. The result was colourful, surreal and pleasing, lending an otherworldly feel to the picture. I hope you like it too. Please feel free to visit my website for some other recent uploads, Transient light, There are some superb new shots at Timecatcher too. By the way the colours are slightly less vibrant than my original transparency.
