The simplicity and subtlety of the beach contrast nicely with the jumbled texture of the surf and rock, due to the fast shutter speed (this photo wouldn't work nearly as well with a slow shutter speed showing more motion in the surf). It's just kind of a shame there are so many footprints in the lower-left corner, which detracts somewhat from the simple textures of the beach. Link to comment
