This shot was made hastily with large format equipment in rapidly

fading light. I know it is not original in any way, but I thought the

way the rocks jutted towards the setting sun was interesting.

You are a very capable photographer avi. i 've seen your portfolio, they are simply great.About this photograph, all i can say is that i 've tried a lot at fault finding , but i am afraid, none exists. Unmder the given situation, its a good pix. congrats.

Absolute top class .just a question does the 80 mm S.Symmar XL really cover fully?

This shot has that extra something that makes it special. The colors of the rocks and composition are perfect. Congrats!

Avi, you have got to stop this. Every time I see one of your photos I am inspired to run out and buy a better lens and to take more time off of work to go shooting. My bank account can't handle it!

In all seriousness, this is very good work. Where the rocks meet the water it looks rather "misty." Is this actual mist, or is it a long exposure that "smudges" waves?

Manfred,

The 80mm Super Symmar has an image circle 212 mm but because of it's ultra wide field of view, it vignettes on the edges. I have noticed it is easy to run out of coverage if you do extensive movements. With this one, I have to tilt the back standard for Scheimpflug rather than the front standard to avoid serious problems. But it is fast, lightweight, sharp and contrasty and worth having it. As far as the vignetting, I can use a centre filter but I don't mind the look of mild vignetting.

Ryan,

As you guessed, the misty-ness at the edge of the rocks is due to a long exposure on the waves' ebb and flow.

I am with you, about breaking the bank on lenses. But aren't these fun toys to have?

Thanks everyone for your comments and compliments.

....Or perhaps it is my monitor that's out of sync 'cause I keep thinking it has bit of a magenta cast.

It is green, in the darker tones of the clouds. I run a calibrated monitor, so I am fairly sure that this is green. But strangely, I do not find it objectionable at all. Regards.
