colin carron 58,916 Posted February 28, 2005 I love these hand outlines on cave walls. They seem so personal and immediate. Are these modern or old? Some of them in Europe are very ancient I believe. Link to comment
nicholasprice 0 Posted February 28, 2005 Thanks Colin, I'm not sure about the age of the hands. I suspect that they're probably modern. They were found at King's Canyon near Alice Springs in Australia. You can see where they were on this photograph - they were on the flat, but raised bit of ground closest to the rock wall on the right! I suppose they could be aboriginal art, either modern, or of some age; but I suspect that they were done by non aboriginals who camped there for the night, as there was nothing to protect them, despite the paintings being on the ground. Regards, Nick. Link to comment
nicholasprice 0 Posted February 28, 2005 I was wandering through King's Canyon one day, and I came across these hand prints. I'd love to know what you think. Thanks for any comments or ratings. Link to comment

mmmee 0 Posted February 2, 2006 I saw this in the WNW's forum and have been wondering what they are. :) I have come to your portfolio from Five and the WNW forum and have been reading quite a bit about how you like to shoot. All very interesting. I have not shot my velvia yet in my Canon EOS Elan 7e.. I was saving it for something special. Ha! You convert yours to black and white. I think I tend to agree with you, and Colin, from what I have seen of Velvia on photo.net, it just does not seem real. Its like the over saturated digitals. (But that was a different photo) I think you really do see in black and white. This photo? I like the curiosity factor and the depth of the tones in it. Have to leave your portfolio for now or I won't get my promised five finished. cheers Maggie Link to comment
