Zippo

How did you shoot this? How did you manage the light the zippo and capture the sparks? Did you do 2 different shots and combine them?

I'll really appreciate if you could explain. I tried similar thing with a film camera and matches to no success.

There is only one shot.

I used a black background and I put black wool gloves to hide my hand when I ignated the lighter.

I set my camera on self timer and waited for the blink announcing the shutter.

Set my camera on 1'6" shutter speed and hold the lighter firmly.

I took around 40 shots to get this one!
