Music Roll Exchange at Bull and Gate, Kentish Town, London

This is what I consider to be the best of a mixed bunch of pictures from my first attempt

to photograph a gig. My friend who manages the band gave a two word critique: "too

dark."

 

Anyone else care to venture an opinion? Rating appreciated, comments even more so.

I really don't think it is too dark...simply the right gig's atmosphere!! very nice, is it cropped or original? (...cos i really like it)

Thanks for your comment. No, it's not cropped. I fiddled with the levels and desaturated it in Photoshop, otherwise it's exactly as it came off the memory card.

focus looks soft but then again I've been to the Bull and Gate and I know how dark it is in there. The shadow across the face needed a blip of fill flash, which, in that venue you could have used unrestricted.
