Looks like you have a focus problem here. I'd say it's not that it is "soft" focus but just that it is out of focus.

The focus is fine...I used smart blur in photoshop. Thanks for the input Chris.

I think it looks a good deal too soft. Using a little Guassian Blur on a protrait can be a good thing but you really should mask off the eyes, lips, and teeth so they aren't blurred. Those areas should be as sharp as you can possibly get them.
