Necklace on Pebbles

Just a simple study in lighting and focus - what do you think?

What do I think about the lighting and focus? Or the resulting image?

 

The focus seems fine, though if this is your Olympus, you're going to be limited on the sharpness. The lighting is flat but even, and flatters neither the necklace nor the stones. (Maybe if you'd wet them?)

 

Result is a rather lifeless shot that could have been improved, in my opinion, by more dramatic lighting and certainly a more interesting subject than stones and a necklace. Maybe you could re-arrange the necklace, bettering the composition, but if you're looking to study light I'd recc more complex subjects. Good luck!

In addition to previous comment - perhaps you should change the background insted of stones - have to similiar shape to necklace to some other -sand or draperry ... to achieve the contrast in shapes also
