CR: I remember one of your earlier pictures. I was pleased by, as I am by this one. There is no suggestion, for there exist no rules for such unique works. They are as they are ... RE

Reiner I occasionally repost a few of my earlier works to get them back into my portfolio, after I deleted them. This is one of my favorites. I'm glad you like it.

I like the lines moveing in one direction and th lines and patterns on the log that move in the other direction. Not to mention it is just a plain interesting shot.

Agreed with the comments above David, another very nice image...

I like the strong contrasts in this as well as the opposing lines presented.

Thanks for the larger version.

I remember this one from earlier as well. It is a memorable shot and one where IR really adds to it. (I find a lot of IR shots just look a bit odd and have nothing much to add once one gets accustomed to the oddness). However this is different. The IR seems to bring out both the sense of nature's endless cycle of birth and death and also adds to the graphic quality of the image. A beautiful and thought provoking shot.

Hello, David. I guess I have seen the shot before, too. The old log worn out by the elements indeed stimulates one's imagination. I like the contrast between the static dead wood and moving grass in the foreground. Regards. Peter

The eye drew me in - it reminded me of an illustration from a children's story (frogs, logs, crocodiles? I forget now) but the weaving of the grasses doubles the interest.

I love the contrast between the horizontal ridges on the log and the ever-so-slight diagonals of the reeds. Wonderful.

I must say this is one of my favorites in your portfolio. I especially way the light lines of the wood and dark shadows work against the light grass and shadows. It makes the wood appear sharp, and the details of the knot stand out.

This is one of the few IR shots on PN that I really appreciate. The tones are just wonderful. Your photos are way beyond gimmickry and the type of tasteless manipulation that insults Nature!
