The colour, asymmetrical composition and angle are all good. The blown out corner is a bit bright for me, and I think it's a wee bit oversharpened.

I like color, form and composition. I have to go with Hanna on the contrast. The burned out corner doesn't take away anything IMHO.

Albert, one of the best flower pictures that I've seen. No suggestions. 7/7.

I can see why you feel that it's oversharpened, maybe you got the impression from the top right bit of the picture ? (the section that looks grainy)

 

It looks grainy in real life too (not because of over-sharpened). When you put bright light and do a close up, you'll see that some flowers (or leaves) will look like that.

 

As in leaves, when you look closely under bright light, sometimes you can see that the leaf looks like it's made up from small green bricks. (not a smooth green area).

 

About highlight, I knew someone would mention it ... :)

I tried to clone it and removed the highlight. But when I looked at the final result, the picture looked somewhat stale and lost it's dynamic...

Then I decided not to fix it and leave it as it is naturally, since the pistils are going to the direction of the light, so I think it matches the title...
