jshaw.photo 0 Posted February 17, 2005 I really like this. I'm kind of looking for some background. maybe you could darken it just a tiny tiny bit. 6/6 Link to comment
audrey lee reid 0 Posted February 18, 2005 Thank you Jeff for your comment. These hooks were hanging in a line on a fishing boat (no idea what they are used for), the background was peeling white paint, I played with the idea of keeping the patchy background, decided to high key it in the end. Maybe I could lower the contrast a little - thank you again for taking the time. Link to comment
salvatore.mele 1 Posted February 18, 2005 It really looks like the hooks are on the drying line, thanks to the small droplets all around. I like the minimalistic composition but I would second the idea of reducing the contrast of the image. Link to comment
galina stepanova 0 Posted February 18, 2005 Audrey, you earned my compliments just by seing and capturing the scenery. To my taste contrast is fine, and B&W is perfect. What is really attracting my attention - repetitions (similarity) of forms and directions of droplets and hooks. Very interesting observation!7 for originality!Best wishes, Galina Link to comment
mar_lia_ferraz 0 Posted February 20, 2005 My friend, I admire people who search for new ways in every segment. I am more than pleased to see this image from you. Minimalistic and so very powerful. No, it doen'st need any changes. It is perfect as it is. Hugs, Marí¬©a Link to comment

audrey lee reid 0 Posted February 28, 2005 Paul - thank you for checking :) In fact, this was taken in your neck of the woods - off a fishing boat near Granville market. Link to comment
bens 0 Posted February 28, 2005 my first thought was, "i really like this," then read the first comment in this thread and laughed. its very distinctive in its tones, masterfuly really, with a fantastic crop/composition that raises this ordinary thing out of the ordinary. the water drops add a lot. robert_walls 0 Posted March 22, 2005 I hope you find this funny but when I was first looking at the thumbnail for this I thought it was a catch of eels. But no, what a surprise.. it's only hooks! They make a great picture. Link to comment
