simple but effective - I like it! There's definitely something to be said for medium format film and the detail it brings out. Your exposure is dead on - a little less and you might have resolved some detail in the snow ... but then you wouldn't have the 'crisp' feel of a sunny winter's day.

 

My only advice for improvement is taking a little more care when you crop - you missed a smidge of black on the right hand side. Also, a simple border of some sort would really make this photo pop.

i took something very similar and kept trying to make it work; i found it hard to make a tree trunk among many as interesting as the feeling i had standing there, and this evokes a similar sentiment for me. its okay, but it does not compel.
