andrea_nobili 0 Posted February 13, 2005 I have shot this photo in Palermo in a zone named Guicciaria....what do you think...in my opinion it's an image of urban desolation... Link to comment
dilber 0 Posted February 13, 2005 Well chosen title, it does generate this feeling. B&W enhances this. Well done! regards Dilber Link to comment

arnabbanerjee 0 Posted February 13, 2005 A few problems - overblown highlights, and a snapshot feel. Cropping the sky may help...the people on the street should add to the scene, but here, they do not - but I like the shot for overall message Link to comment
frank.schifano 3 Posted February 14, 2005 Doesn't look all that different from my old Brooklyn neighborhood. Link to comment
michaelging 1 Posted February 14, 2005 I too think it's good subject,I only wish you had not cropped of the girls feet, and the top of the electric pole.If you left a little sky above the pole, it would not bother me so much.I also wonder if in cropping the photo if you could straighten up the leaning building.I can see you know what a good photographic subject is,the sharpness is good, I would just work a little on framing. Thanks for sharing. john falkenstine 1 Posted February 16, 2005 Well, this sure isn't a cliche image of Tuscan countryside, and shows another face of a country. I find these images fascinating, because they stripp off the facade of hypocrisy that usually is projected through photography. Not all images have to be beautiful or pseudoart renderings or pretententious. Link to comment
