I like the drama standing towards the edge of and the point of the large foreground mass creates; and the way you kept the horizon line clean.

I dream of views like this !

This is nicely composed and well exposed. I like the way the sharp texture of the rock anchors us to the top of the mountain and lets us enjoy the view. As for the background, the series of focal planes works well in giving a rhythm to the shot. The human makes (and slightly un-makes) the picture. On one hand gives us the scale of things, acts as a proxy (we see him there, we wish we were there, we feel there) and, finally, tells the story of the walk to this place. On the other hand I do not like the fact he's facing us: it looks like a summit-picture a` la "Hey look here and smile!"...had he faced the landscape, the illusion of he being the proxy would have closed the loop: "He made it on top, I see him on top, I feel part of it, he looks at the landscape -and not at the photographer- I am looking at the landscape, I feel in the picture".

 

I reckon I'm a bit adamant in this, but that's one of my favourite topics...
