I like the light and hand gesture, as well as seeing enough of the environment to make it interesting, but not so much to distract. The background contrast might be a very little bit too high, though.

Why do you only ask for comments if folks rate you low? Ask for comments from everyone! (I'm not rating you low, but commenting anyway. So there!).

Nicely composed. Good tones and exposure. The top right frame is over-exposed and takes eyes away from the main subject. Overall a very pleasing portrait. I hope your friend will like this.

Thanks for your advice and opinion. I agree about the harsh lighting in the top right of the photo, but don't know how to remove it without altering the image. Any advice would be much appreciated. Your portraits are the best on photonet, so always happy to hear your opinions on my work.

Fabian, what do you think about this modification? I first converted it to B&W and use burn tool to darken the burned up area and convert it back to sepia again.
