Ice pyramid

ian cameron

The unmistakable pyramidical shape of Buchaille etive mor soars skyward at Glencoe in Scotland. I was one of countless tripod wielding, camera toting photographers scrambling over partially frozen peat bog to photograph his lordship in crisp winter sunlight. Here's my version Please feel free to visit my website for some other recent uploads, Transient light, There are some superb new shots at Timecatcher too.

Scotland's most distinctive mountain is almost a perfect pyramid from

this particular angle. I placed myself low down using the icy river

to add depth and perspective. Please feel free to comment.

I am impressed by the beauty of the tones and of the composition. The way the icy river (from a texture and a conceptual point of view) connects with the icy mountain is impressive.

I like the way the clouds do attract the view to the pyramid, almost hypnotically, complementing the diagonas of the river.

A beautiful shot.

Another beautiful photograph to add to your folder Ian. Great MF detail. I especially like the longer shadows, it was worth the morning trek. Although I am sure that it is not so, I get the feeling that this is tilted. This is probably due to the way the land rolls to the left. Very nice work! Regards.

Every detail seems to have fallen into place in this one. To me, one of your strengths is showing variety of detail in fore and midgrounds without distracting from the subject. This is a fine example.

You know what, Ian... I think it's the freaky look of the pyramid itself that through me with your previous image of it.

It's quite a striking piece of geology - particularly in that great light.

Solid composition here - I really like the way the pyramid forms the centre-piece (literally).
