ted_morrow1 0 Posted February 9, 2005 I really like this shot! The contrast (in terms of composition) between the chaos of the wreckage and the calmness of the small group of policemen is quite humourous I think. What on earth was on the truck? Ted Link to comment
jchiala 0 Posted February 9, 2005 Good bit of photojournalism here. I might've cropped out the emergency workers on the left since they kind of detract from the hulk of what is left of whatever that was. I love the bumper sticker on the front "KEEP YOUR DISTANCE". Link to comment
kevin_spaulding 0 Posted February 9, 2005 Extraordinary. Love the "sweep" of devastation--almost like an abstract painting--in contrast to the authorities casually conversing to the side. Link to comment
petre_petrov1 0 Posted February 9, 2005 You've caught a great (well, tragic) moment, but the impression is "scattered" between the wreck ant the group of people on the left. Link to comment
hughes 4 Posted February 9, 2005 Petre I appreciate your comments, but the essence of a good news picture is to tell a story I think your rendition of a tighter crop of the truck would be just a picture of a burnt out truck. The other photographer and the police add to the narrative, look at the alternative and you be the picture editor regards Steve Steve Link to comment
atle.g 0 Posted February 10, 2005 interesting indeed. Iam i right if i assume that no one got killed here (even if it looks like it might have happened)? The man inbetween the white clothed policemen have a "laidback" relaxed apperance because of the way he keep his arms... its like a trivial conversation. My only suggestion would to take just slightly off the right side, since the right top corner takes a bit too much attention from the rest. Link to comment
jchiala 0 Posted February 14, 2005 The original crop is much better. I stand corrected. Thank you for trying. I am not a picture editor and I guess I shouldn't try to be.regards-John Link to comment
