I like The effect you are using here, its cool the way you used the light from the ocean to sillohette your subject, I am assuming , that is that you have done this intentionally,as it is a perfect outline of your subject plus the shadow adds an extra touch. Very Nice!

The strange pixelly outline on this silhouette suggests that an over-zealous 'unsharp' filter may have been applied. Whatever, it spoils what could bean otherwise dramatic shot. Great exposure & contrast; good blues.

Believe it or not Marlin, no "sharpen" or filters were used. That strange outline is on the negative. The only reason it's pixelly is because I reduced the size of the jpeg. I must admit though, I did alter the colors to punch up the blues.

There is very good composition in this image. Makes you wonder what your subject is looking at. I believe you caught the back ground light just right. It is unfortunate that the outline spoiled a above average photo and brought the aesthetics score down for some peoples liking. Better luck next time.
