Coming in

Taken during the Tour de Langkawi. I'm satisfied with the angle and

the action but i think i'm missing something. Could it be the

background which is not blured? What do you guys think?

I think there was really nothing that you could have done. Using a smaller DOF would have blured also some of the bikers. I think that you can try to B/W the background (See my web site for some samples of this tech).

I have mixed thoughts about the background.

On a first approach I agreed with Ben, that it should go away, and that a very tight crop on the bicyclist (cropping not only from the top but also from the bottom) would help a lot to concentrate the view on them.

But after going back to the big picture, it gave me the impression that such a background (even been so ugly), helped to give more sense of depth with the additional that it let us know that this race is being carry on the streets.

So probably you should try next time to find a better telon... MHO :-)
