thomas_breazeale1 0 Posted February 7, 2005 This is a very lovely image David..to me the best in your portfolio but I like the others also. The lone tree, the dramatic sky and the DOF all add up to a well balanced shot.I especially like how the background hills converge with the sloping foreground...well done. sergio_amodeo 0 Posted February 7, 2005 Compliments. I like everything: composition, contrast, simplicity ! Only on my screen the redish/ sepia tone doesn't look great, but it might be only on my screen... Well done. Link to comment

david_hate 0 Posted February 7, 2005 Rather than tone this in a more normal warm sepia, I wanted to create a darker mood by making the toning a darker blacker brown. What do you think...does it work for you? Link to comment
ivan_dzo 1 Posted February 7, 2005 Generally good but not quite the best. Having a sky with more features in it would add to interest (but you weren't there then) but finding a more prominent rock to give foreground interest to match the good midground would really help it. Tree and mood are great though. Link to comment

hanna_cowpe 0 Posted February 8, 2005 David, you've caught the mood of Yorkshire in winter very well. I think the tone works to good effect. The windblown tree adds impact to the feeling of a windswept moor and the rocks contribute to the cold, harsh setting. The right foreground is a little lacking in shadow detail compared to the rest of the rock, but I can get over that when viewing such an evocative image. It certainly reminds me of my winters in E. Yorkshire. Link to comment
tony georgiadis 0 Posted February 8, 2005 IMHO This tone works perfectly well rather than a sepia. Link to comment
danbliss 0 Posted January 25, 2007 I love the texture of the rocks and the tree. Wonderful tone. It is just great. Dan Link to comment
vikramdmello 0 Posted February 12, 2007 breath-taking view, david. the tug-of-war between tree and wind is more than palpable, and almost tangible. out of curiosity, with what did you shoot this? vikram. Link to comment
