jnicholson 0 Posted February 11, 2005 I rated for the picture (6/5). For my tastes though, the frame is a bit over the top. Nice picture Link to comment
drybrain 0 Posted April 3, 2005 i know those thisles wuite well and it is a very good image of them. sharp, DOF - very nice and crisp. i completely agree about the frame. it kills some of the nice detail on the left. Link to comment
timeforpictures 0 Posted September 8, 2005 The DOF is perfect and I love the overall presentation! I pretty much shoot sports action, but I've been an outdoorsman my entire life. The outdoor prints (landscape, wildlife) probably interest me the most. I like the sharplness of the subject, the framing, and your presentation. This is one for my den :-) Thanks for sharing! murphymj4803 0 Posted September 8, 2005 Thanks Gary. What a nice compliment about hanging this in your den. By the way, your "Behind the mask" photo should be on a box of Wheaties or Kellogg's. It's wonderful. 7/7 type work. Link to comment
cecilw 0 Posted March 27, 2007 These "thistles" are not actually thistles, but Teasels - "Dipsacus fullonum" . Link to comment
murphymj4803 0 Posted March 28, 2007 How perfectly botanical your comments are and right as rain as well. Thank you, Cecil. I went to Google and sure enough you are correct. My bad as they say. I am indeed impressed with your sense of getting the facts correct. There might be a need for more of that on Photo Net. Link to comment
murphymj4803 0 Posted February 1, 2011 Dipsacus is a genus of flowering plant in the family Dipsacaceae. The members of this genus are known as teasel or teazel or teazle. The genus includes about 15 species of tall herbaceous biennial plants (rarely short-lived perennial plants) growing to 1-2.5 m tall, native to Europe, Asia and northern Africa. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dipsacus Link to comment
