herbert fernandes 0 Posted February 10, 2005 I think the borders and framing is overdone.. its really become the core of this image and distacts from the real image.(its a great job by the way but not for this image) I like the colours in the image.. otherwise I really dont like the overall effect you've tried to put across... matteo_orlandi 0 Posted February 12, 2005 sincerily..i don't like the frame and this kind of glass-ice style....but the picture itself is great!! Link to comment
murphymj4803 0 Posted March 5, 2005 Appreciation other peoples work as well as the appreciation of things beautiful does seem to be in the eye of the beholder......therefore, for the record I still enjoy this picture and the edge effect. Sorry you don't. Link to comment
amanda_griffin1 0 Posted April 30, 2005 Of all of your images, I like this one the most, and part of why I like it is the edging. For me it helps to not only anchor a very strong and forceful subject, but also to subdue it for a more gentle look. The composition and tone are also great... leads me into it and makes me want to know what is at the end. I think you did a great job of taking something many would consider ugly, and capturing it in such a way to create a work of artistry and vision. 7/7 Link to comment
murphymj4803 0 Posted May 1, 2005 Amanda, thank you so much for taking the time to study and critique my photo. I am grateful that you appreciated the photo, the edging, and it's overall esthetics as much as you did. Many thanks,Michael Link to comment
azenall 0 Posted February 18, 2007 The oxide indicates that this image is not in B&W. Great work!! Link to comment
murphymj4803 0 Posted February 19, 2007 Thanks Gerardo, it's impressive how observant you are to notice the fact that this was shot in color not B&W. Michigan can be profoundly grey and dreary in the winter. I did shoot this on color film, you are a keen observer. Link to comment
jmcconnell2 0 Posted June 12, 2008 Mike, I love the photo, it`s the kind of subject I can`t get enough of. I will try to ignore the frame. Link to comment
murphymj4803 0 Posted June 13, 2008 Thank you for going the extra mile and saying what you think even about my "weird ass frames". I have always been a fan of your work therefore, receiving any comment or critique from you means a great deal, thanks again. For the record the framed edge treatment has been tried this one time. Allow me to say, not too many who dropped by to add their 2 cents have been all that wild about it or have appreciated it for that matter. Again, thanks for stopping by.
