FilmPhotography-DuaneHorne 0 Posted October 10, 2005 Brad, How do you achieve IR with a digital camera. I shoot IR film. Is there a special setting you have too use? How did you achieve the red sky; was it the capture or was it changed in PS? As a suggestion, I would recommend shooting at f16 or higher. It will help on depth of field issues. Link to comment
brad_scarberry 0 Posted November 10, 2005 Hi, I just had ordered a hoya r72 lens, went outside, with my 300D, set it to a long exposure and this came out. The red sky must just be the shade of filter. I have only taken like 5 shots IR in my life. If I remeber correctly I did do auto level in PS to make it a little more visible. Thanks for the advise, I need to get back to workin on IR. Brad Link to comment
FilmPhotography-DuaneHorne 0 Posted November 17, 2005 Brad, Thanks for your feedback on my portfolio. No PS. I take a very minimalist approach with PS. Just enought to scan the image and approximate it to the original slide. I like using very saturated films and a polarizer and/ or warming filter. One more thing. Do you desaturate the colour in the camera or PS. It might give you more of a B and W IR Effect. Hopefully someone with more digital experiance will provide more useful feed back on your work. Keep shooting. Link to comment
