vladt 0 Posted October 2, 2001 I think I need your opinion about composition here. Should I crop it differently? Thanks! Link to comment
chuck_dowling 0 Posted October 3, 2001 This is just perfect. You did frame it and put it on the wall I hope? I gave it a pair of 9s. Link to comment
greg mccracken 13 Posted October 3, 2001 Great focus, exposure, cropping. I think it is a winner! The thumbnail just jumps off the recent submissions page. Link to comment
eric_farrow 0 Posted October 3, 2001 It one of those exceptions to the 'don't put the subject in the center of the photo rule'. Link to comment
kyorston 0 Posted October 3, 2001 I agree with all of the above. It's a beautiful photo. Link to comment
vladt 0 Posted October 3, 2001 I didn't frame it yet. Trying to finalize cropping. Thanks again! Link to comment
horrorvacui 0 Posted October 5, 2001 Cropping a photo is not a must. I assume you shot it in "landscape" format, and can imagine it would have been better composition to leave it that way. Leaving some space around the kid while cropping top and bottom tightly around the subject would emphasise the momentary loneliness induced by the "Offense", and increase the emotion generally. The medium format photo format doesn't fit here.Nevertheless, it's a nice photo. Cheers Link to comment

abarak 0 Posted October 12, 2001 I rated it 9/9 (come to think of it, though, it is not *that* original... ;) Personally, I would also try to avoid cropping. I am an 'original exposure frame' snob, and only give up when exposure framing is for some reason absolutely inappropriate. This photo deserves some wall space, no doubt about it, very well done. stephen_ksiazek 0 Posted May 16, 2002 Beautiful. Wonderful DOF. Did you use a soft focus or a diffusion filter for this shot? Link to comment
vladt 0 Posted May 17, 2002 Thanks Stephen! No, it was straight shot, i.e. without filters. Link to comment
