Autumn Waterfall Abstract

Please open larger file before rating/critiquing! Also used a circular Polarizer. No color adjustments- just some dodging and burning to get closer to the slide.

This was one of the first photos to catch my eye back when I first started coming to this site. Simple, yet so intricate and beautiful, as mother nature always seems to be.

Wow. This inspires me as a photographer because of the way you simplified this picture by closing in on the line of the waterfall and yet enriched it with the beautiful autumn color and by your slow shutter on the water.

Wow - that picture is such a great example of cropping. I would be curious to see the whole image to gain a better idea of what was left out to get the wonderfully-constrained image that we see here.

A perfect example of why the originality rating is often misused. This is not an unusual shot. . . . but so what. It's done very well with the wonderful 'S' curve and the contrasty element in the lower right that serves as the start of the leading line (from the right?! . . . horrors!)

Well done.

As you know I'm not so much into landscape photography. As I saw the rating I gave to this shot a few months ago, I felt today that I had been a bit unfair as far as originality rating was concerned. So I've revised my rating. The angle and choice of composition, as well as the light, are actually very original in this category of shots, though waterfall shots aren't anything new of course. The kind of problems I always faced with originality ratings in general. At least, almost a year after, I realized my mistake. :-) Best regards.

I'm a black and white type of guy, but this image just makes me love color, which rarely happens. It looks surreal, and amazing.

Absolutely stunning, I've seen this style of shot before but never executed better. It's simple, striking and memorable and I'm rarely moved to make comment.

I think you see a lot of these shots of only flowing water, but this one is a cut above most with the beautiful yellow reflections and overall superb composition.

It's easy to get really good photos of this kind of subject, but extrememly hard to photos that really stand out from the rest. I couldn't ask for more from the composition or color.

here is a good example, showing the concentration on the essential things; what can show better the perishablity than water and the change of seasons by the colors?

Well done, man! AT the right time at the right place

Different from the average waterflo type photograph, wonderfully composed with excellent range of colour.

Very good effort!!

I actually like your dig version better, but the colour and silkiness are superior here. The dig composition is more appealing for me. Lovely stuff

Excellent photograph; the colors are beautiful and the composition is great. Certainly deserves high orginality score for a water fall. 6/7

I like a lot extremely detailed sufrace of running water and reflections - they say about scenery very much.
