Very nice work! It is refreshing to see that others still use filters rather than rely completely on digital manipulation to achieve results.

Excellent shot. Lots of good text book things happening in this photograph!

I love looking at many of the images posted here on photo.net, not for the image but the interesting border styles. I like your border very much, I'm a fan of imagemagick, just wondering if you could share your border creation technique. Thanks Brent bedwards at clevver dot net.

Does it matter? I submit that it does not. It's a beautiful image that's quite appealing to the eye but do we necessarily need to incorporate a subject or theme? Can't it just be something to look at? I think the feeling invoked by every aspect of the image speaks for itself. When we try to dive into each and every photograph by analizing its meaning I believe that we frequently lose touch with the basis of photography, which is, in my opinion, visual entertainment. This is a very nice photo, I like to look at it!

Undoubtedly it is the light. I know Asier work from a while and all I can say he is a true light hunter. No matter where he shoots in the marvellous basque natural landscapes he always manages to capture the very scarce and special moments where light turns the real into magic. This has to do with a refined technical knowledge, but also with a timely and unique sense of beauty.

what a marvelous photograph! its beautiful. "But what exactly is the subject of this image?" youve heard the saying that you cant see hte forest for the trees? the subject is the forest! we ask to many qustions. Why can't we just enjoy a nice picture? very good work mr. Asier Casto de la Fuente.

The Subject? Obviously it is the essence of the place. This is definetly on par with the masters. Ansel Adams in color. I say it rates a 10, seven isn't high enough. Very good job!

What is wonderful about the photograph to me is that it brings to me the beauty and mystic of the forest. It elicits within me the desire to be there. To Experince the feeling of walking in those woods. Of the smells, the air wrapped around me as I magically walk in those woods.

As an aside, why does it seem good that it is painterly. If I want to see painterly, I look at paintings. I want to see photographically, so I look at photographs. And both can well up the joy of being there.

Frankly, I have seen hundreds of such images [no offense intended here], I know its beautiful light, which is not quite unusal to see in a lot of landscape photographs.

I don't know what is the subject of this image, may be ambience or light, but thinking about that doesn't lead me anywhere. I don't think there always has to be a subject in an image [not in usual landscape photography, which we see everyday]. But then that's about it, what else ?

To me, it's all about the light. Otherwise, it's "just" another autumn scene, imo. The light elevates this a notch. As has been mentioned, there are many other equally striking fall scenes, but that doesn't mean this one isn't deserving high marks for aesthetics.
